FAQs…For the newbies…like me.
Okay…so one question constitutes the “frequently.” What the heck, if one person has asked, others will probably be confused as well…especially when the question sends me poking around for an answer. So:
Q: This type is so small. I’m having trouble reading it? Explorer’s font sizing isn’t having any effect. What can I do?
A: Thanks to XX I know the answer to this. Cntrl + magically zooms the page!
Q: Avatars: How do I display my avatar in my comment post?
A: By default, WordPress gets its avatars from Gravatar’s ”Globally Recognized Avatars.” This is a free service. You go up, make an account, give it a user name and email and upload an avatar. (you can change the avatar) Any Gravatar-driven system will ask you for your user name and email, it goes to Gravatar and pulls down your avatar and inserts it into the post.
They’ll tell you that you must use the same user name as you set up with Gravatar and that that use name is unchangeable, but I’m not sure about that since I’ve had the avatar show up on pages where I used a different name, but the same email, so I suspect the email is the significant input.

Q: So, why is my site avatar different?
A: Because admin’s Gravatar doesn’t show up! Crazy, huh? Makes sense, though because admin’s email never comes into the posting equation. So…there you have it.
Oh…in order for admin to have an avatar at all, I needed to install a little plugin called Local Users Avatar.
Q: Why can’t I subscribe to your RSS feed?
A: This pertains only to the Cute Bubbles Theme at this time: The RSS feed link is hidden way down at the bottom in small type. I’ve added the words “Subscribe to:” to the line, but I’m going to search for a widget to make it easier.
Q: Why don’t the blog role links work anywhere but on the Main Page?
A: Because of a little plugin that’s supposed to help with SEO. I dunno exactly what it does, or what SEO is, but it’s highly rated and supposed to be polite to your blogging friends…so I put it in.
Q: What do you mean “sidebar slideshow.” All I get is a tag that says “New at Flickr.”
A: Durned if I know, but let me know what browser and version you’re using and I’ll ask the widget developer!
Q: What widgets/plugins do you use?
A: The aforementioned Local Users Avatar
Fidgetr: The sidebar slideshow.
TylrSlidr: The body slideshow.
Smilies Themer: Though it’s not really what I want. I’m looking for a plugin that will allow me to make my own smilies.
