The colors might not be right…I have no way of knowing after my experience with monitors and graphics programs in the last 24 hours, but at least you should be able to get an idea of the levels of color and transparency. There’s a default BG color, the blue. Then a background image. Then the semi transparent overlay for the text. If this wasn’t what you were seeing before, it’s never been right. What I know to be the case on my own computer is that it’s working fine in firefox and the transparent overlay is not working in IE.

Could you please let me know if this is actually a change or has been a problem from the beginning? It’s important for the designer of the theme to know.

As for the color of the drop down menu…I’m looking into that, but I think that’s determined by the background color. It’s a stupid linkage. I’d let it go because running the cursor over the options gave the secondary background color against which the black is quite legible, but I’ll see if I can get into the php/css and fix it. I’m not counting on it, mind you, because the code for this theme is very complex, which is part of what gives it the flexibility. But I’ve messed with it before…that’s what backups are for.

Thanks for the input.

No, looks nothing like that. The background to the main body of text is a lilac colour and the margins area lot smaller on the right and left.

I see the lilac background also, and no blue/varigated blue side margins at all; the varigated pink at top an bottom is also missing. The good news is that the CLosed Circle title appears correctly, I have no trouble with contrasting colors, and it seems to be working OK. (Using recently-updated Firefox.)

This looks like what I am getting on my MacBook. The drop downs are what I call Bermuda Green, very legible. In fact I am having no problems at all. Color is very good.

Lynn did say notify her if any of our sites went wonky. I think this qualifies. Maybe she’s got the old version backed up and could restore it.

  5. Firefox 3.6.8, on Windows 7. I’ve got a lavender background behind the text. If I mouse-over the menu items, the live menu item matches the background color behind the e-books link; the drop-downs are the same color as the solid bars on the left and right margins. The background image–what’s behind the lavender text section–looks like your image, but it only extends down about one screen or so before it stops abruptly; if I scroll down to the bottom of the page, the whole background is the light-teal color of the sidebars. The pinkish type at the bottom of the page–the copyright stuff?–is not readable.

The lavender color isn’t bad. It just doesn’t look like what you’ve got.

  6. I’m on Firefox and like several others, also have the lilac background color under the text. The lilac color is fine, and nicely complements the multi-colored “swirly” header.

No side margins — but my monitor size isn’t the largest.

Mint green color in the drop-downs.

Mint-green bottom margin — there is no print there, where you usually see legal info.

All the drop-downs buttons seem to be working.

The horse & cart has the mint green background color.

The overall appearance is pleasing. I like it!

Uhoh! There are now changes in what I see. None of the pink above the drop down menu; the background color switches from swirls to solid light green about halfway down; no copywrite or legal info at bottom of page. This was probably the same when I posted last night. Another reason not to post when having allergy attack and exhausted.
