Things you might not realize:

Like Lynn, putting down her writing in the middle of a sentence to handle a sudden call from us, out of the blue, about a mysterious charge from the company handling Caroyn’s domain name, something about which she had no reason to know anything, but for which she’d helped us find an answer in five minutes, nevermind that was not at all where her head was at when we called.

Or taking hours out of her day to track the internet for blogs and sites to keep us all up on the ins and outs of the ebook world.

Or like Carolyn, who hates mathematics, trying to wrap her mind around the sales reports we’re getting from PayPal and WP-estore—reports which are definitely not designed for our situation—to figure out how to keep books we can all understand…while trying to write a short story for CC and outline the next Bren book.

Or taking time out of her day to take care of household tasks that are actually my job so I could finally sit down, uninterrupted, and get Ring of Lightning assembled and up.

This is, believe me, only the tip of the iceberg where it comes to the behind the scenes craziness. The stuff I’ve been doing, the site, the covers, the ads, the finessing of the files you get in a download…that’s all the obvious stuff, but it’s definitely not all that’s involved in making CC a reality.

I write a lot, probably too much, about what I do each day.  It seems to be where my head is always at right now, so that’s all I have to write about. I just wanted to take a (long overdue) minute to thank, publicly, my equally hard-working buddies whose efforts are, while maybe not quite as obvious, every bit as exhausting and important.

Hugs, ladies!

Hugs, all around. We’re a good team! Jane will now peel me off the walls as I cope with copyedits (galleys have come in) at a con…sigh.

Sympathies! I’ll drive tomorrow. You can work on the CE in the car.

    Does this imply……..Hmmmmm……Dang it!!

Get OSG to check your mail while you are out.

Thanks for the forward-an-back links at the top of the posts, they make things easier.
And putting a clickable table of contents in the first Ring book as well, right before it goes up: you’re incredible.
It’s good to see you getting time to ready your own books, you three are a good team.
But though I do like having the next book in a series quickly to hand when I finish the previous volume, remember the discussion on the blog a while back about staggering and spreading out the new releases?
Don’t push yourself too hard to finish the other two, leave room to look for snowdrops and enjoy the skating and the con.

Something strange but definitely non-urgent I just noticed. Your left-hand column (which is on the left when I’m on the page with all the different blog-posts), has moved to below the last comment when I’m on the one-blog-plus-comments pages, ever since the new colour scheme started. Now I just noticed that when I was logged in to write the comment above, it was back on the left, and when I logged out again it switched to down below. Strange…

No-one commented on my suggestion (at the ToC-post) that if you want to show a review on CC, you quote it and its source. Is silence assent, this is permissible; or is that too much to assume?
I know nothing of USA rules regarding quoting something published elsewhere, you’ve many more knowledgeable readers on these blogs. I rather thought one of them might say something, if this wasn’t allowed.
If you want to do so (sometime next year) you might let a friend select the best one to quote, so you won’t have to read any of them yourself, for all the reasons you mentioned in your post.

I totally missed that! Sorry! I’ve answered it now.

I can’t think of any reason you can’t quote online reviews. It’s part of the “fair use” part of copyright. I’d love it if people would send me links to (positive) reviews. It could be the equivalent of “puffs” in a dead tree book.

Other people have mentioned wandering format, too. I don’t know why. As soon as CC is “caught up” and we’re on maintenance, I’m going to completely redesign my blog using my own graphics and the same theme I used on CC. the constructor theme is basically a blank slate. Hopefully, it’ll be more stable.

Gotta go update the website. Forgot to change the Ring page.

    Sorry, for left read right!

I also have Wandering Format…….could it have anything to do with my server?…… this is *definitely* 250,000 on the list of 25…..

The wonderfulest thing about all three of you is that you make it *look* easy….I know it’s not….what we see it the tip of the iceberg (good writing is like…..) and that tip is terrific.
