I don’t think I’ve ever had a pair of shoes that one of the first things I think of in the morning is getting them on. Even greater shock: Carolyn, the barefoot queen, has the same reaction. These shoes really are something. My ankle gives me only the occasional twinge now, with or without the shoes on.

You’ve got to be a little careful the first few times you squat down to work because they play subtle games with your center of gravity, but stretching to reach top shelves and standing on tippy toe has never been easier! And no inserts and no plantar fasciitis! Like…wow.

But they don’t make them for men! How cruel is that? They’re being touted as these great exercise aids, for butts and thighs…which I know is a huge selling point for the 21st C female market…but…don’t guys want to have good butts, too? heeI know I want guys to have good butts!

Probably they don’t want to advertise the orthodic advantages of the shoes…that being not nearly as glamorous as a good behind…Weird world we live in.

questionBut still…why not make them for guys?

When I first read your article, my first thought was: YES! I have been searching for good shoes for my extremely flat feet for years. I look them up: females only. *Grumble* So back to the $150 New Balances every other month. Seriously.

Thanks for pointing these shoes out, though. My mother in law has a lot of foot problems, and I know that she would benefit from these shoes.

Oh, and men do want to have nice posteriors, just we aren’t supposed to admit it out loud. Thankfully for the world, I had to turn in my Hetero sexual male card when I married my wife. Something about holding your spouses purse while she’s changing or some such. I don’t argue the fine print anymore.

Heh heh. I think you guys ought to just go buy the black ones (or white, if you want). I mean…they’re tennis shoes! I used to buy men’s tennies all the time, until they started making women’s in something other than white! I think the size differential is about a size and a half. I wear an 81/2-9 woman’s and 7-71/2 men’s. Heck, buy them through the internet and who’s to know?

Let’s hear it for nice bums! :w00t:

    What’s the women’s size for men’s 14?

On a more practical note, I read an article some time ago that walking on cobblestones improves balance, I suppose because it gives you constant, small balance difficulties to practice on. It sound like these shoes may do something similar.

I want a set. I spent the day at Disneyland and my feet are killing me.

Oh….dear. Maybe we should just start an e-mail campaign to Reebok to get them to produce them for men!

They liken it to walking in sand. For me, it’s a lot like running across the pasture as a kid. I’m sure that’s a big reason why all these problems have come up in my, ahem, later years.

I hardly notice the difference now, but my feet assure me it’s still having an effect. They’ll feel a little tired, like from a good workout, but never sore.

Tho I haven’t tested them at Disneyland. Darn. YAYAYAYAY MICKEEEEEEEEY.

If only they hadn’t done in the flying saucer bumper cars. That was The Best ride EVER. Sigh…

We need a pair for DH. He loves his New Balance tennies, but the style he prefers has gone out of production, so we’re finding them on the Web as small caches come to light. If they produce them for men, I’ll buy him a pair to try!

Hope they work out! Hope they do for all of you who have decided to give them a try. My feet have felt so good, I’ve kind of overdone at the rink, so now they’re just sore from overuse! But the ankle continues to strengthen, and, boy, is it helping the skating! I’m going to get those back edges yet.

A big effect is on posture and core strength. It doesn’t replace exercise for those areas, but for me, it’s helped get me over a strength “hump” so I can actually make progress. Curiously, the first couple of days, the backs of my arms hurt like crazy. It’s that encouragement to walk with your shoulders back and down. Now, almost miraculously, I can get the twist to the torso to get my arms around and the balance over the skating foot. Coincidence? Maybe, but these are areas I’ve been working on specifically for over a years with no noticable improvement. Now, I get the shoes, the muscles on the backs of my arms and shoulder blades are sore and my back edges are stabilizing? That’s enough to convince me the shoes are at least part of the answer.
