…the Fickle Female Deity 1 created Blog. And Blog was good.
If only The Captain had the foggiest notion what to do with it!
Just to add to the fun, there’s no way to learn in private. No way to create the look of my blog before it goes RealTime.
And if there was/is, I’d probably waste an inordinate amount of time “getting it right,” and never get around to the real work of posting. So…forget that. Let’s just go for it. You can be in on all the joys of my learning curve.
I haven’t linked the blog to my page yet, so I have no idea if anybody can even get to it, but if you can, check back for the blogging debaucle of the day.
Right now, I’ve just got the default wordpress template up, hence all the generic links in the right column. Right now, they’re handy for me, so I’m leaving them there.
And I figured out how to upload pictures! Yay, me!

Now…I’ve got to go figure how to put a different header up. Bye for now.

Yay! Good to see you’ve mastered images
Hi, there! Mastered…hmmm, that’s one word for it, but it’s a start! :D Now…if I can just get a different banner up….
It is good to see you up and running! I’ve haunted your website to no avail for far too long. Interested readers want to know what’s up!
Er…Um…yeah. Mea culpa. I think the problem of organizing the various topics on the website proper just got too daunting. I had no idea that blogware would do it all for you! Even slideshows!!! I’m looking forward to this.
Hello Jane, It’s great to see you in the blogosphere. Now we can hear from you not about you from second (or third) hand sources. P.S. As always hello to Wesley.
Hi, Bret!
I’m getting increasingly excited about this. Lots to do, lots to figure out, but I’m feeling less “hermit-like” by the moment. Hey…these replys don’t associate with the parent message. Hmmmm….
Hi, Bret….
And everybody else out in ComNet land. Second and third hand?
…heh heh heh….
Hi there, friend! Everybody got here before me! I’ve been sick *cough-cough*—yes, well—
Excuses!
Yaaay, the blog is going!
CJCJCJCJCJ!!!!!
Oh, lookie! Your little avatar is all google-eyed. How appropriate for someone in the aftermath of root-canal! I thought the Wesser’s was pretty spot on for him these days, too. I love these little generated guys, but I think I want people to be able to choose their own avatars/screennames.
Opinions anyone?
I wonder if we can do that with WP. Surely there’s a widgit for it, if not….
I like your blog so far. The backlighting effect is the clincher for me. Way cool!!
I think your mind works the same way mine does. I can never start a successful project of any sort from a template. I’ll use it as a reference – like a skeleton in a biology class.
I use Flock as my browser at home and use “Ctrl +” as needed to increase the font to an easy to read size. I’ve needed to increase the font size on 95% of the sites I visit so its almost a subconscious movement. I’m guessing that many of your visually challenged readers end up doing the same thing.
I actually had The Captain and Diet last year and decided it was quite tasty. Will need to go the extra step this year and have it with the lime!
Looking forward to more,
Welcome! Welcome!
I love the backlighting, too. I love things that sparkle and glow. (Hmmm…maybe I was a crow in my past life?)
Wow…Thanks for the “Ctrl +” information. It worked on Explorer as well. (Oh, the relief.) I think I need to make a little “known to everyone but me” list of secrets for navigating blogs! This will be at the top of the list.
Oh, yeah. Lime…that really makes it.
Cute avatar!
great post<hy i cant subscribe to your rss feed?thanks
Thanks! And welcome.
Re: subscriptions…Ummm….I dunno. (Going to check out the page.) Ah. Found it. The subscription button on this theme is way down at the bottom in tiny type. I’m not really thrilled with it. I’ll go looking in widgets for a sidebar solution. Thanks for the heads up.
